Garden Organics along with the upper valley bee patrol have been managing hives here for a number of years to some good success. First taste from this year produced a clean tasting treat mostly derived from the lavender labyrinth. In an age of honey bee problems and decline it's a pleasure to see that Sunitsch Canyon still provides workable habitat.
Farmer Willy pictured after one hive gathered and swarmed - discussing in their own way if they needed a new home. After the swarm setteled on a branch it was cut and dropped back into a fresh hive. After a couple of days of "stay or go" it appears they've settled in.
